We began working with the owners of this home & Josh VanDyke of R. VanDyke Building & Remodeling, LLC in 2021.

The house is located on a beautiful lakefront property, with a stunning natural surrounding. Our top priority was making sure to capitalize on the lake view; and this was achieved through two primary strategies. The first, was to design a floor plan concept that placed utility rooms (laundry room, pantry, mudroom bathrooms, etc) towards the street; this allowed us to place living rooms, kitchen, dining room, sunroom bedrooms, and basement living spaces facing the lake. The second detail was centered around window selection, placing large windows in the two story living room and designing the window layout to provide as much natural light & lake view as possible.

The house has immediate "Wow" factor as you walk in through the front doors and are greeted by two stories of windows, and an unbeatable view of the lake. Our clients wished for an open floor plan, with transitional design elements. We were able to deliver this by creating different defined areas (four seasons room, living room, kitchen, dining space) while maintaining an easy flow that can be seen in the video.

In addition to our floor plan's strategy, the materials - such as cedar, metal roof above the entry way & four seasons room. The accent windows, European style window / sliding door with railings on the upper level bedroom, interior color scheme, Hardie board siding, and paneling that were chosen in this house provided the transitional style the client was looking for.

Overall, this was a very fun & interesting project to be a part of. The whole designing process was pleasant, based on collaboration and team effort between the owners, designer, builder and our business.
